The short version

What we collect

When you use the Theory of Change Builder, we collect the answers you provide during the intake process — your organization name, program description, population, activities, and outcomes. This information is used to generate your logic model and, if you complete the form, to log your submission in our internal systems so we can follow up if you request a review.

When you apply for beta access, submit a consulting inquiry, or fill out any form on this site, we collect your name, email address, organization, and any details you provide. We use this only to respond to your request.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment information on this site. We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral advertising networks, or third-party analytics tools that profile you across the web. We do not build user profiles for advertising purposes.

How we use your information

We use your information for one of three reasons:

We do not send unsolicited emails. We do not add you to mailing lists without your explicit consent. If you want to stop hearing from us, just say so.

Data security and AI

Your organization's program data is never used to train AI models. This is a firm commitment, not a default setting we might change. Nonprofits often work with sensitive community and beneficiary information. That trust matters to us and we treat your data accordingly.

Each submission is stored in an access-controlled environment. We limit who on our team can access submission data and review access regularly as we grow.

Your rights

You have the right to know what information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, and to ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@toolsforimpact.ai. We will respond within five business days.

If you are based in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR and UK data protection law. We are committed to honoring those rights. If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to keep the site functioning — for example, to remember your session if you are partway through the Theory of Change Builder. We do not use cookies to follow you across other websites or to build a profile of your browsing behavior.

If this changes, we will update this page and give you a clear way to opt out before any new cookies are set.

California residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. This applies to California residents and everyone else who uses this platform. We never have and we do not intend to.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of any sale of your information — though as stated above, no such sale takes place. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@toolsforimpact.ai.

Terms of Service

By using Tools For Impact, you agree to use the platform for lawful purposes only. You may not use our tools to create content that is deceptive, harmful, or misrepresents your organization's programs or outcomes.

The logic models, narratives, and documents generated through this platform are based on the information you provide. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in outputs that result from inaccurate inputs. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before submitting it to funders, boards, or the public.

We reserve the right to discontinue access to any user who misuses the platform. We will provide reasonable notice before doing so unless the misuse is serious or ongoing.

The platform is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for losses resulting from downtime or errors.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle data, we will update this page and note the new date at the top. We will not retroactively change how we handle data you have already submitted without notifying you directly.

The kinds of changes that would prompt a direct notification: if we started sharing data with third parties, changed our AI training policy, or materially changed what we collect. Minor clarifications to wording do not warrant a notification.

Questions or requests

If you have any questions about this policy, want to request your data, or want us to delete your information, reach out directly. We are a small team and we read every email.
